After getting off the phone with my husband the other night, I accidentally left my phone were Abby could get it. Abby loves my phone. It was fairly close to bedtime (ie fussy baby) so I tried being really nice and politely asked for it back. Tried having her put it in my purse. Attempted to give her one of her three phones. But no, I ended up having to pry it from her hands while she frantically tried to hit buttons on it one last time and biting the flip part at the same time.
Of course as soon as I had it she was almost hysterical and saying 'No, no, no!" Then Abby went over to her kitchen and smacked the stove as hard as she could with her hands, which she does when she's angry. Then she reaches down and grabs a felt ducky purse Grandpa gave her. She proceeds to collect her lovey monkey and gets her pink princess phone. She shoves both into the purse, slings it over her shoulder and heads to the front door waving at me. "BYE BYE!" she called out and then started crying again when she couldn't get the front door open.
I think my daughter already wants to run away from home! This cannot bode well for the future. I have no idea what the right thing to do in that situation is. They don't mention it in the baby books. I went and sat next to her and told her I loved her and asked her what she had in her purse. She calmed down and showed me her phone etc. I just wonder what goes through her head sometimes.
