Is this thing on?

Nobody is listening, but I'll keep talking anyway. I guess you can't expect people to just start reading your blog when it's been dead for almost 2 years. For what it's worth, I do have a handful of posts on MySpace for the last year or so!

As for the house hunting, we didn't see anything that we just had to have now, but there were some contenders. It's really funny to look at houses that people probably lived in for 10 years that we couldn't see ourselves letting our daughter crawl around in. One house we looked at, I was standing in the door of a bathroom, the floor was large white tile with those little black squares set in. The realtor walked in the room and her jaw dropped open as she looked past me. I said 'It's not THAT bad', she stepped forward and moved me to one side, so I could see the GINORMOUS cockroach on the door frame. ew. That plus the team there trying to find the source of the natural gas leak I could smell just took that one off our list!

WOOO HOO! I just got the email that we're actually approved for a loan. That's too cool. I don't feel like I'm old enough to own a house (even though I've had two). I still feel like a college kid sometimes - but my bank statements and the little person sleeping upstairs says otherwise.

Let the House Hunting BEGIN!

Today we begin the ever exciting, often heartbreaking and always nerve wracking quest to find a new home. Fingers crossed on financing, since we applied yesterday.

We want
Something in Round Rock
4 Bedrooms
Nice neighborhood (who doesn't)

We need
At least 3 bedrooms with a den or bonus area of some sort
Master UPSTAIRS. I can't sleep on the first floor. I've moved rooms at resorts even.
A big backyard. At least not tiny.

Our price range this time is a lot nicer than when we purchased this house. Let me tell you, I had one realtor outright LAUGH to me on the phone when I told him I wanted a house in RR for under 100k. Well the joke is on him because our realtor DID take the time to find our humble home and guess what? Now that our budget is almost double, we're going back to her. Didn't anyone ever teach that jerk about repeat business? We were very pleased to find out that we should be able to get a few dollars out of this place too, which is a welcome surprise considering property values in the area.

I hope I'll have good news when we return this evening! Pray that Abby has a good afternoon and isn't too fussy about being in and out of the carseat =)
